Henk Hanselaar
Founder/Partner
Henk is an experienced executive and board member with a broad business background stretching almost 50 years:
- CEO positions at US and German technology firms
- Senior commercial and investment banking assignments focused on cross-border transactions
- Board membership at multiple European and US privately held technology companies
- Investor/co-founder of an early-stage IT technology company.
In addition to his career, Henk is the Netherlands Honorary Consul in San Diego with focus on fostering economic, research and corporate collaboration between Southern California organizations and their counterparts in The Netherlands.
Netherlands to the U.S.:
Henk was born and raised in The Netherlands and is a graduate of Nijenrode Business School. In the mid-1970s, he became a resident of the U.S. and earned a BA from the University of Oregon, MBA from Santa Clara University, and completed the Harvard Business School PMD program. Since 1981 he has been based in San Diego, CA. Henk maintains a second residence in Germany.
Thomas Verhagen
Founder/Partner
Thomas is a seasoned Operations and Private Equity Executive with 30 years of international experience in technical, operations, commercial, finance, and investment roles involving start-up, turn-around, and high-growth businesses:
- CFO and co-CEO of a German/Dutch energy company
- Principal at Natural Gas Partners, a premier Private Equity Fund with a focus on the natural resources sector in the US and the UK
- Commercialization of technologies and restructuring of companies that focus on resource adaptation themes around the energy transformation, the Blue Economy the circular economy.
- Board member for various US and UK-based private entities.
- Director of Western Region Administration for a large international offshore services company.
Netherlands to the U.S.:
Thomas was born and raised in the Netherlands and went to Delft University of Technology to obtain a degree in Civil Engineering/Offshore Technology. He moved to the U.S. in 1994 and received his MBA from the University of Texas in Austin. He lived in six countries, worked across Europe, North America, South America, and Asia, and now resides in San Diego, CA.
